In 2013, we made the first in a series of films for Kidney Research UK, documenting the stories of 3 people whose lives were affected by kidney disease, Auryn, Jim and Maddie.
Despite ongoing research there is still no cure for this silent killer, and Kidney Research UK is a charity which aims to free lives from the restrictions, fear, anxiety and life-limiting nature of kidney disease.
Spending time with researchers, doctors and campaigners opened our eyes to the effects this disease has on people of all ages. We had no idea then that we’d go on to have personal experience of this disease and witness first-hand the devastating impact of kidney disease, and ultimately kidney failure.
In 2021, Michelle’s sister, received her gift of life and this is why on the 1st anniversary of her transplant we have selected KRUK ‘Funding Research to save lives’ as our first 10 years 10 films production.
